In modern offices such as the markilux headquarters, large window areas are often an essential part of the design. They let in natural light and create an open, inviting atmosphere. However, the downside of wide window fronts is warm temperatures in summer and glare from the sun's rays. To get these problems under control, high-quality window shading was used here.
Vertical blinds offer an effective solution to the negative effects of solar radiation. They protect offices from excessive heat and provide a pleasant working environment. Thanks to their modern control systems, employees can adjust the shading individually and as required to minimize glare.
In addition to the window shading, the roof terrace was equipped with sun and weather protection systems to create an outdoor employee area that invites employees to spend their breaks in the fresh air.
Reduction of heat generation in the building
The large window front of the office building floods the interior with daylight, creating a pleasant working atmosphere. However, this also means that the UV rays cause a lot of heat to build up in the office, especially in summer. For this reason, vertical blinds were installed on the windows. As soon as the sun shines intensively, the window shading can be lowered. This significantly reduces the amount of heat entering the building. This is because the sun's rays are intercepted by the awning fabric before they pass through the windows. This means that external window shading is more effective than internal sun protection.
Glare protection for workstations at the window
Employees with workstations by the window are also dazzled by the sun, which makes it difficult to work at a computer screen. To prevent this, the windows were fitted with markilux vertical blinds. If employees feel disturbed by the sun's rays, they can operate the window shading individually using a wall switch. The awnings were fitted with a transparent awning fabric. This means that the view to the outside is maintained and daylight is not completely blocked out.
Creation of a protected outdoor break room
The roof terrace of the company building serves as a lounge for employees. The terrace is an extension of the break room to the outside and should therefore be available at all times, regardless of the weather. Various awning systems create a sheltered retreat to enjoy a break. In addition to protection from direct sunlight, the awnings also offer protection from the rain. Lateral elements create a windproof space.
