Awning system from markilux near Toulouse extends over 70 metres

A new, generously sized catering location in Colomiers near Toulouse in the south of France is particularly popular in summer thanks to its spacious terrace. Three gastronomic venues and a bakery come together at this location on the Boulevard de l'Europe. The terrace was fitted with a large markilux awning system matching the façade of the building in order to comfortably protect the outdoor seating areas in the restaurant zone from the sun and also make them enticing in the evening.

A modern restaurant zone in the southern French municipality of Colomiers, just outside Toulouse in the département Haute-Garonne, offers a wide range of culinary delights over an extended area. From the boulangerie and patisserie with a fast food restaurant, to the pub with French cuisine, street food and a pizzeria: this zone attracts guests throughout the day and in summer they can also enjoy relaxed dining on the large outdoor terrace. This is ensured by an extensive awning system from markilux, which is also equipped with infrared heaters and a lighting system to create a beautiful evening atmosphere.

The ultimate solar protection system

“The new building complex on the Boulevard de l'Europe borders the outdoor terrace with its arched glass front. Our local specialist partner was commissioned to shade the terrace with our ‘pergola stretch’ system,” says Rebecca Dick, Sales Manager for France at markilux. The colour of the system had to match the façade in order to harmonise visually with the building. It consists of 14 individual, coupled awnings – each measuring five by five metres. This means that the solar protection system extends over a width of 70 metres and provides shade over a total area of 350 square metres.
