FAQ about the markilux 1710

The markilux 1710 is an awning with a cover cassette. When the awning is retracted, the fabric cover disappears into the cassette. However, the technology remains open. A valance can be used to conceal the folding-arms.

A sleeve awning is a type of cassette awning. The closed sleeve awning protects the awning cover with a sleeve in which the fabric cover is stored. Unlike full cassette awnings, the folding-arms remain outside this sleeve. The folding-arms of a sleeve awning are protected by a valance. As the protection for the folding-arms is somewhat less with a sleeve awning compared to a full cassette awning, this type of awning is recommended for fixtures in weather-protected areas such as roof overhangs.

Cassette awnings generally protect both awning covers and folding-arms. Sleeve awnings mainly protect the awning cover from rain and dirt, as the folding-arms lie in front of the fabric sleeve when closed. To sufficiently protect the technology of the sleeve awning from negative weather influences, a valance can keep out rain, for example, to a certain extent.

The markilux 1710 model is a sleeve awning. This sleeve awning is suitable for shading large areas and can be installed in different ways. As the folding-arms of a sleeve awning are located outside the fabric sleeve and are therefore hardly protected, a top fixture is particularly suitable. This means that the mechanism of the sleeve awning is protected by the top. Alternatively, there is also the option of a face fixture - on request with a wall sealing profile that closes the gap between the wall and the sleeve awning.

The markilux 1710 sleeve awning is equipped with a crank as standard and is therefore operated manually. For greater convenience, you can also configure the markilux 1710 as a sleeve awning with a hard-wired motor. The sleeve awning is available with both a standard and radio-controlled motor.

In addition to the frame colour and cover pattern, you can choose polished chrome elements for the end caps and end cap inserts for the markilux 1710.

The folding-arms are positioned in front of the cover cassette and are installed in tiers, allowing awning sizes with more extension than width. So if you are looking for solar protection for narrow reveals, balconies or patios, the stretch version is the perfect choice. Because the two folding-arms cross over each other, even awnings with a narrow width can be extended.

If you want to cover a larger width, it is a good idea to link two markilux 1710 awnings together. A maximum total width of 1390 cm is possible. However, the stretch variant is not available as a coupled awning.

We recommend retracting the markilux 1710 in strong winds or rain. This will prevent damage to the awning cover or the mechanism. You can leave the awning extended in light rain or wind. The light rain also causes dirt to roll off the awning. It is important that you do not retract the fabric cover when it is wet.

There is a wall sealing profile for the markilux 1710 model that closes the gap between the wall and awning.

The servo-assisted manual operation, hard-wired motor or radio-controlled motor are available for the markilux 1710 model. This means you can operate your awning manually, by switch, remote control, weather-dependent control or even by app. The markilux 1710 is also smart home ready.
