Sun and glare protection for the patio season

Awnings ensure cooler temperatures on balconies and patios and adjacent living spaces also benefit from this. Thanks to this, we can experience the summer from its most pleasant side. Another practical feature is additional solar protection that can be lowered at the front of the awning. One example of this is the “shadeplus” feature offered by markilux. It protects against glare and wind as well as offering additional privacy.

Nowadays, an awning tends to be indispensable during the summer, especially on large patios and balconies. It protects against the heat of the sun and ultraviolet radiation and thus creates a cosier atmosphere – both indoors and out. In the late afternoon, however, the low sun can cause considerable glare. In this situation, only additional solar protection such as the “shadeplus” feature from markilux can help.

The “shadeplus” can be integrated into the actual awning and, depending on the model, can be lowered to any point by up to two metres and thirty centimetres. This creates a wind-protected, private outdoor space that retains some of the warmth of the day as it slowly gets cooler outside in the evening. Almost all of the manufacturer’s pergola awnings can be fitted with it – as can some folding-arm awnings that are attached to the house or are part of free-standing systems that can be positioned anywhere in the garden.

The “shadeplus” can be operated either manually using a stainless steel crank handle or by motor, depending on the model. Various patterns and cover qualities are available for this practical function so that it can be matched to that of the awning itself.
