The Hotel Löwen is located in the middle of an impressive mountain landscape in the "Montafon", an elongated valley in Austria. The operators invested in the expansion of the hotel. As part of this, the restaurant terrace was also equipped with comfortable weather protection. The awning systems markilux pergola stretch and markilux markant were chosen for this. Guests can now enjoy the summer on the terrace regardless of the weather.
The four-star superior Hotel Löwen, located in the Austrian mountain village of Schruns in Vorarlberg, redesigned the outdoor terrace adjacent to the hotel last year. The aim was to provide year-round weather protection to make outdoor dining more attractive for guests and visitors. The pergola on the hotel building provides shade. A smaller, separate area is also equipped with the free-standing "markilux markant" system.
Over 200 square meters of weather protection
The approximately 100 seats on the hotel's outdoor terrace were fitted with a total of around 200 square meters of sun protection systems from markilux. The new awning systems are intended to protect the restaurant area from the sun and rain during the summer season. A 165 square meter pergola system consisting of five separate awning panels protects the building from direct sunlight. Away from the hotel, the outdoor catering area is covered with the free-standing markilux awning system. This allows a further 50 square meters to be shaded.
Side elements protect against wind
The awning systems are not only suitable as sun protection. Equipped with vertical blinds, they create an overall concept that also keeps out the wind and protects against low sun. If necessary, the patio can be closed off. When not needed, the terrace retains its open character. This makes the outdoor dining area an inviting place in all weathers.
Cozy ambience in the evening
When the sun goes down, it doesn't mean that the hotel's outdoor area has to be closed. Equipped with LED lighting, the hotel terrace is bathed in a beautiful light. The lighting concept creates an inviting atmosphere and gives the evening outdoor dining area that little bit extra.
Awning systems in harmony with the architecture
The design of the awning systems was configured in such a way that the sun protection blends in with the architecture and appearance of the hotel building. The color scheme of the frames matches the wooden elements and balconies of the hotel. The modern and simple design has a unified look and enhances the restaurant terrace.
