The markilux cassette awnings (with the exception of the markilux MX-1 compact) have manual operation as standard. On request, however, we can also manufacture your awning as an electric version with a motor. You can either operate this via a wall switch or you can order an electric cassette awning with (radio) remote control. Your modern patio and balcony awning can optionally also be controlled with the Somfy CONNEXOON smart home system. This enables you to operate your awning via app from your smartphone or tablet.

Depending on the model, you can also complete your electric cassette awning with LED lighting and radiant heaters. You can also choose from sensors that automatically retract and extend your awning, depending on the weather.

What is a cassette awning?

When a cassette awning is mentioned, this term is usually understood to mean a full cassette awning. A full cassette awning is especially the right choice if your shade provider is mounted on the wall, for example, and does not receive any further protection from a roof. Because with this awning model, the fabric and the entire arm mechanism are retracted in a completely closed cassette. This means that the awning fabric and mechanism are optimally protected from rain and dust when you are not using your awning.
